San Jacinto Liberty Flag

Anniversary of the Battle of Santa Anna of April 21, 1836. This flag was carried by 30 Texians that rushed into Santa Anna’s army of 1500 and won the battle in 18 minutes. Santa Anna was captured and surrendered. New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California, Utah and parts of Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Nearly 1 million square miles, almost 1/3 of the present US can be tied to that day at San Jacinto. The original flag currently resides in Austin's capitol building.
